What this site is for, what we focus on, and how to get involved.
Live Orthodox is operated by a team of Christians. Our aim is to provide a community that is accessible to people with different beliefs and levels of knowledge, rather than only to those who already agree with us.
Live Orthodox does not exist to attack the beliefs of other religions. The purpose of the project is to provide material for the study of Christianity, with particular attention to Orthodox Christianity and Christology. Criticism of a position should be directed toward the argument or doctrine rather than toward the people who hold it.
Apologetics, Metaphysics, Philosophy, Christology, and Religion. These are the principal subjects covered by Live Orthodox. Political discussion is outside the intended scope of the project, and subjects are not included merely because they are controversial. Material outside these areas may therefore not appear on the site.
We are looking for members, from the Church and from other beliefs, to help run the Discord server, write articles, and work on the site itself. This is volunteer work. Nobody is paid for it. If you wish to apply for Moderator or Writer, please do. We would genuinely like to hear from you.
I founded this site. I am an Eastern Orthodox Christian, and my goal is a space that feels safe and equal for everyone who visits. Reach out by email or on Discord. I want to hear your arguments, your questions, and your answers to what has already been written.
Live Orthodox does not seek to pressure people into Christianity. The purpose of the project is to explain and discuss Christian belief so that readers can consider the material for themselves. You are free to disagree with the positions presented here.
Live Orthodox may be promoted and shared freely. Representing this site as your own property, or as a project you personally own, is not permitted.
